I think I understand now why Evil Abed didn’t make an appearance in the Pillow/Blanket war. The feud with Troy wasn’t enough for him to come out completely. Judging by the stills from future episodes, it’s his time with Annie in the dreamatorium that makes it happen. Which goes to show he definitely has some unresolved issues concerning Edison. Guess he actually WAS affected by the events of the last season’s finale.

Annie romanticizes her crushes and tries to manipulate them into happening—She had whole scenario laid out in her head of how Troy would take her on a date, and she’s always trying to ‘set Jeff straight’— she does the exact thing that Shirley accused Britta of in Season 1: “Stirring in…
I ship both Jeff/Annie and Annie/Abed and I love both of ships. I think both have their pros and their cons and while I may be more hardcore about one of them, I would never want to pit them against each other. As much as I ship Jeff/Annie, I’ve also believed for a long time that Abed really loves Annie (I also disagree with the fandom consensus that Abed is asexual but that’s another story).
Annie falls for Abed when he’s in character because that’s the only time he expresses his feelings for her. It’s the only way he knows how. However, I feel like the Annie/Abed relationship has been progressing lately and I think the idea of them getting together is totally plausible now. And they’d be great together.
Anywho, mostly what I wanted to say is that I saw your post from earlier and that I’m one of the people who ships Jeff/Annie and Annie/Abed! =) Multi-shipping is totally possible…..and super fun, because then you’re pretty much happy no matter what!

Wow. You deserve all the awards. It’s so nice to see multi-shippers shipping both ships (tongue twister?) and being proud of both. Thank you!

Adding to the response to that last post (though it already expressed pretty much all of what I feel about this ship):
Emotions are difficult for Abed; the only way he really can express himself is through his films or “becoming” characters. So it’s not as though he’s just becoming random people and Annie likes those people. If Annie didn’t like Abed in any other context, she would certainly be less receptive to his characters like Don Draper of Han Solo.
It’s evident that he really does care for Annie: he waits for her, he forgives her, he helps her, he speaks up for her, he tries to comfort her in the only ways he knows how. He also never ran away from her in his own self-interest. They don’t expect each other to “grow up” or change because they are fine the way they are. He accepts her and she accepts him.
But even on top of that, Abed is so sure of himself. He understands who he is, and is someone who is stable and can be Annie’s rock, especially during a time where she is still trying to understand who she is and what she wants to do with her life. She is his anchor to reality and he is her anchor to calm and understanding.

Exactly. This ship is sincerely mutual. Mutual respect, mutual acceptance, etc.. Annie, although she tries not to show it, can be so scared. Scared of what’s happening, scared of change, scared of what’s going to happen to the study group, and scared of what’s going to happen to her. Annie is the type of person who likes being in control of what’s happening and Abed isn’t that. Abed isn’t organized. Abed isn’t going to mandate everything. Abed lives the way he wants to live and Annie is beginning, however slowly or quickly depending on how you look at it, to do that too. Just moving in with Abed and Troy was the first step. Annie is looking at the world in different ways, with the help of Troy and Abed. Annie also helps Abed with his emotions, how he’s slowly overcoming that barrier between characters and reality. Abed surely can be Annie’s rock and Annie can surely be Abed’s anchor, and in my personal opinion I think that’s one of the major things that make this ship fantastic.
But all seriousness aside I think you put it much better than I did.

No, I don’t think so. I think AA is a ship that people fell for because it is so unconventional. It’s a ship for people who hate shipping, and based on the Reddit comments I saw this holds true now more than ever. Everybody has seen the fairy tale. People have spent their whole lives seeing the cute guy getting the girl, or the cute girl changing the bad boy, or the two main characters getting together. I think the interest in AA is purely based on how different it is. Now that it’s starting to be used more, people are getting excited that such a weird ship is being treated as something more than crack.
omg guys
could you imagine an abed/annie type setting in titanic
like annie is rose, who is doomed to marry someone she doesn’t love
and abed is the immature, fun guy who wins her heart
they both steal away afternoons with each other
could you imagine it
could you
could you
I sense hard times ahead, Abed/Annie shippers. We will brave through this together!
